Ipswich
Ipswich is a beautiful town on the banks of the estuary of River Orwell. It was established in the roman times and it served as a connection to the interior rural areas. The town has witnessed the skirmishes between Vikings and English in ninth and 10th century. It has now developed into the third largest urban area in the region of East of England. It is on its way to modernization, thanks to the developing river port. It has many heritage buildings including the Christchurch Mansion and Ancient House, New Wolsey Theatre and the Regent Theatre. The Ipswich Museum and the Ipswich Transport Museum are added attractions in this town.
The Tolly Cobbold brewery, one of the finest Victorian breweries in the United Kingdom, has its home in this town. An annual arts festival is conducted n this town and is known as Ip-art. Various art disciplines are showcased in this festival. It also has music events with various artists participating in the events. A Theatre group, by the name Eastern Angles, has their home in this town. The town is also home to a second –tier football club “Ipswich Town” and has a 30,000-capacity stadium where the matches are conducted.
